Order flowersPukekohe is a market-garden town in the Auckland region, home to around 28,800 people (June 2025 urban-area estimate). Its fertile volcanic land became market gardens, onion growing on Pukekohe Hill took off after 1892, and once the railway was finished in 1907 the gardens became a major supplier of produce to Auckland and Wellington. If your recipient lives out of town, a little care with the address goes a long way.

Sunny stems for a recovery
Pukekohe Hospital at 1 Tuakau Road has a primary birthing unit and rehabilitation beds, but no accident and emergency service. That means two common reasons to send flowers here: a new baby, or someone in one of the rehabilitation beds.
We have not found a published flower rule for Pukekohe Hospital, so check with the unit before sending. Sending flowers to the family's home once they are back is a simple alternative. Our flower care guide has tips for the new parents on keeping a bouquet fresh.
If the recipient lives on a rural property, their address will include an RD number. NZ Post's standard is to write it without spaces or punctuation inside RD – for example "RD 1", not "R.D.1" – followed by the mailtown and postcode. The mailtown is where the rural round is based, which is not always the place the property is in.
Between 1991 and 2020, Pukekohe averaged a 23.5°C maximum in January and 14.3°C in July, with about 1,243 mm of rain a year – most of it in winter. In the wetter months, ask for the flowers to be handed over rather than left outside. In summer, a cool spot indoors away from a sunny window helps them last.
Pukekohe Cemetery is the town's cemetery. For a funeral, send sympathy flowers to the funeral director or service venue, with the full name of the person who has died and the date of the service, rather than to the cemetery itself. Our funeral flower etiquette guide helps with the card.
Florists in the area also cover nearby Tuakau and Waiuku.
Put the recipient’s ward, room or the funeral director’s name on the order so the florist can find them.
Busy days book out early, so order ahead for Pukekohe.
