Order flowersŌmokoroa began as a small rural holiday village and is becoming a commuter town about 25 minutes' drive from Tauranga. About 5,800 people lived in the urban area in June 2025, and it is counted as part of Greater Tauranga. Many flower orders here are for people living in its retirement villages, so we start there.

Ōmokoroa has three places where older residents live:
For a village, give the resident's full name and their unit or villa number as well as the street address. For residents in care, include the room and choose a compact arrangement in its own vase. If in doubt, ring the village office first.
Ōmokoroa covers the urban area on the harbour side of State Highway 2, from Youngson Road to Plummers Point Road, plus parts of Old Highway Road. Addresses on the other side of the highway may be rural and use an RD number; write those exactly as the recipient does, and allow extra time, as rural addresses can take longer.
A subsidised ferry runs four times a day between Ōmokoroa and Matakana Island. If your recipient lives on the island, check with them how deliveries usually reach them.
We have no hospital listed in Ōmokoroa. If the person is at Tauranga Hospital, flowers can be sent directly to the wards throughout the day. Include the patient's full name and ward.
From 1914, a timber tramway carried rimu from the Whakamārama mill to the Ōmokoroa wharf for shipping to Auckland. Today the 19 km Ōmokoroa–Tauranga cycleway uses local roads, a narrow footpath and gravel cycle paths. For other towns nearby, see Katikati or our Bay of Plenty page.
Matakana Island is reached from Ōmokoroa by a subsidised ferry that runs four times a day. Deliveries to the island depend on that ferry, so they need more time than an address in town. Talk to the recipient first, and consider sending to an address in Ōmokoroa where they can collect the flowers.
Put the recipient’s ward, room or the funeral director’s name on the order so the florist can find them.
Busy days book out early, so order ahead for Ōmokoroa.
