Order flowersTe Aroha is a Matamata-Piako District town of about 4,730 people at the foot of Mount Te Aroha, the highest peak of the Kaimai Range. It lies 53 km north-east of Hamilton and 50 km south of Thames, at the centre of a dairy farming community. Its Domain keeps many original Edwardian spa buildings, and the town has two aged-care homes with hospital-level care – useful to know if you are sending to an older relative.

Despite its name, Te Aroha & District Community Hospital is listed as an aged residential care facility, not a public hospital. When sending to a resident, include their full name and the facility's name. A compact arrangement or pot plant is often easiest in a resident's room.
Te Aroha's What's On listing has Christmas at Boyd Park and the Santa Parade on 29 November at Boyd Park, 50 Stanley Avenue, with the Te Aroha Country Market from 9am. Racing Te Aroha lists a Christmas raceday on 25 November and Bayleys Christmas at the Races on 6 December. If you are sending festive flowers to someone in town, a weekday delivery away from these busy days is the simpler choice; our Christmas flowers guide has seasonal ideas.
Gold was discovered near Te Aroha on 11 September 1880, and more than 500 miners arrived within five days of the goldfield being proclaimed. Te Aroha Domain is a registered historic area that keeps many original Edwardian spa buildings, including the Category 1 Cadman Bathhouse, and the Mokena Hou Geyser is described as the only natural soda water geyser in the world.
"A Day at the Domain", started in 1977, celebrates its 50th year on Sunday 28 February 2027, from 10am to 2pm, with free entry, crafters and food trucks. The Te Aroha AP & H Show has run since the 1890s, with a large home industries section; we have not verified its next date. February is also the warmest month, with a mean daily maximum of about 25.5 °C, so ask for summer flowers to go straight into water.
Te Aroha Cemetery is run by Matamata-Piako District Council and has a children's section and an RSA section. For a funeral, flowers usually go to the funeral home or family home rather than to the cemetery; our guide to funeral and sympathy flowers covers what to send and what to write.
Put the recipient’s ward, room or the funeral director’s name on the order so the florist can find them.
Busy days book out early, so order ahead for Te Aroha.
