This is a region that loves its gardens, with a long-running garden festival, so flowers are a natural gift.

A region of gardens
The Centuria Taranaki Garden Festival, now in its 39th year, opens private and public gardens across the region; in 2026 it ran from 30 October to 8 November, alongside the Taranaki Fringe Garden Festival in home gardens. New Plymouth and Pukekura Park
New Plymouth is home to Pukekura Park, a 52-hectare Garden of National Significance that opened as a recreation ground in 1876. Each summer the park hosts the TSB Festival of Lights, running from 19 December 2026 to 24 January 2027. Waitara, on the Waitara River about 15 km north-east of the city, has its own page, and so does Inglewood, which sits 200 m above sea level close to Mount Taranaki.
Stratford, Eltham and the south
- Stratford has New Zealand's only glockenspiel, which plays Romeo and Juliet's balcony scene four times a day.
- Eltham is 13 km from Hollard Gardens in Kaponga, a Taranaki Regional Council garden open all day, every day.
- Hāwera has King Edward Park, opened in 1902, and its 1914 water tower is still a local landmark.

Farm addresses
Inglewood services a mainly dairy farming district, and farms may have rural addresses. NZ Post writes these with "RD" and a number in place of a suburb, for example "RD 2", followed by the mailtown and postcode. The mailtown is where the delivery round is based, which may not be the closest town.
Since June 2024, NZ Post has stopped Saturday parcel deliveries to most rural addresses, a reminder that weekend delivery is limited in many rural areas. Order early in the week, include the recipient's phone number, and allow extra time.
Sending to a patient
We have not yet collected hospital flower rules for Taranaki. Rules differ a lot between hospitals in New Zealand, so check with the ward before sending flowers to a patient, and have the patient's full name and ward ready.
