Blenheim, centre of wine country

Blenheim is the centre of Marlborough, New Zealand's largest wine region, with over 50 vineyards near the town. It is also very sunny, with about 2,521 sunshine hours a year, though winter frosts do occur. Pollard Park has rose gardens, native shrubbery and play areas, and Seymour Square holds the War Memorial and Clock Tower, unveiled in 1928.

See our page on flower delivery in Blenheim for local detail.

A garden festival in spring

Garden Marlborough is a garden festival with garden tours, workshops, a garden party and a Sunday fête of more than 250 stalls. In 2026 it runs from 5 to 8 November. If someone you know is a keen gardener in the region, it is a natural moment for a thank-you or birthday bunch.

Picton, Waikawa and Renwick

Picton, 25 km north of Blenheim, is the South Island terminal for the Cook Strait ferries, and cruise ships call regularly between October and April. Waikawa, just north-east of Picton, is treated as part of the Picton urban area. In Picton, the Edwin Fox Maritime Centre holds the Edwin Fox, built in Calcutta in 1853 and the only surviving ship that transported convicts to Australia. Renwick is also served, although it does not have its own page; order with the full street address.

Patients at Wairau Hospital

Wairau Hospital in Blenheim does not mention flowers on its current Health NZ page. The former Nelson Marlborough DHB has stated that immunocompromised or isolated patients, and patients in ICU, HDU, IMCU or SCBU areas, should not receive flowers. As that policy is archived, check with the ward before sending.

Vineyard and rural addresses

For a rural property, NZ Post's format puts the RD number where a suburb would go, for example "RD 3", then the mailtown and postcode. If the house is more than half a kilometre from the roadside mailbox, NZ Post itself leaves parcels at the mailbox, so it is worth adding a phone number or delivery note for the florist. Rural addresses can take longer.

Florists also deliver to smaller places such as Renwick.
